Four (4): New Visions for Living in Miami
Four (4): New Visions for Living in Miami originated as a challenge to a select group of leading architecture firms to come up with innovative visions for mid-rise residential living surrounded by the leafy green canopy of Coconut Grove, suspended between the blue skies above and the blue waters of Biscayne Bay below.
Miami-based developer Terra Group chose the architects—Ateliers Jean Nouvel, Christian de Portzamparc, Diller Scofidio + Renfro and OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture/Rem Koolhaas). The curator and exhibition designer is Terence Riley, former director of the Miami Art Museum and former chief curator of Architecture and Design at the Museum of Modern Art.
In the exhibition, original drawings and models prepared by the architects are accompanied by text and additional materials that convey their visions. Four (4) offers viewers an in-depth understanding of the ways in which architects address the challenges and opportunities inherent in a mid-rise residential development that aspires to be an asset to the community and an urbanistic building block for the future.
